Total Freight Solutions has operated as a freight brokering service since November 2001, providing global and domestic freight forwarding solutions to the public and private sectors of Tasmanian business.The principal of the business, Steven Miller, has 20 years of experience in the freight and transport industry and has leveraged off this experience to grow the business from an idea to a wholly owned Tasmanian Pty Ltd company with a turnover in excess of $3M per annum, and a customer base of 200.
Strategic relationships have been developed with major suppliers, both National and International, allowing for the tailoring of freight solutions that are customer focussed. Total Freight Solutions provide services ranging from overnight envelopes and artwork to exporting and importing very large cargo, such as catamaran engines and helicopters. Regardless of scale, the focus remains on customer service and providing the most cost effective and efficient freight solution available.
Having experienced consistent growth, particularly during the past 2 years, it was decided that a move from a home based office was necessary to accomodate the increased business, and to expand operations to include warehousing and distribution services within Tasmania.In the first quarter of 2007, the company made its first major acquisition; that of a warehouse and office space. Located at Maxwell’s Road, Cambridge, the facility provides for the relocation of the business from a home based office as well as storage space and designated work area.The facility is flexible in its configuration, which allows for accommodating special projects requiring on site services such as a work area, administration facilities and meeting space. In this regard, the company promotes an entrepreneurial spirit, encouraging diversity in business.
IMPORTANT MILE STONES:
Year 2001- Total Freight Solutions began trading as a Partnership from a home office.
Year 2006- Decision is made to move to a Company Structure and acqire our first employee.
Year 2007- Business Manager appointed in January.
Year 2007- Acquisition of Warehouse and Office facility in Cambridge.
Year 2007 - Additional 2 employees engaged in the warehouse
Year 2008 - Planning underway for construction of a larger warehouse, adjacent to the current facility.
Year 2009 - Construction commenced on new warehouse, expected completion by October 2009.
Year 2009 - Construction of new warehouse completed in November. Relocated all services to 14 Maxwells Road facility, just around the corner!
